Oraine R. Ramoo
B.A.(Hons), M.Ed., CTT, BFRP, CNT, MBFPA
I received my Master of Education in Counseling Psychology and Human Services from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, USA. Prior to moving to PA, I spent time in New York City completing my Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology at St. Francis College. I see value in many therapeutic traditions and use a unique and eclectic combination of humanistic, cognitive, transpersonal, and depth psychologies whilst incorporating diverse techniques.
In addition to general counseling for women, I specialize in female trauma (miscarriage, abortion, rape) and I work closely with adult female survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Through my training as a Certified Trauma Therapist I guide clients individually and gently through the PATH Program. I also am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Certified Therapist with with further training in the Flash Technique and use this approach to help clients process their traumas and other concerns. I also take a special interest in working with Highly Sensitive People and spiritual intelligence.
I am particularly blessed to have clients who resonate with some of my alternative approaches, so I am happy to work with clients to find gentle and drug-free alternatives inclusive of aromatherapy and Bach Flower Remedies to alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, stress and more. With formal training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), aromatherapy and breathwork - all very successful therapeutic practices - an additional therapeutic layer is added. If you are curious about my complementary medicine work, you may visit my other site Raine Wisdom Apotheca.
I am proudly an independent consultant with Families in Action, Trinidad and Tobago. I am a service provider for International Forensics & Business Institute (Trinidad). I have had continued membership with the American Psychological Association for over 13 years, membership at the Dr. Edward Bach Foundation, the EMDR International Association, the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy and am a founding member of the Bach Flower Practitioner Alliance.
Over time, I have facilitated workshops at Atlantic LNG; Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago; ABEL Building Solutions; The United States Embassy; PriceSmart; National Flour Mills; Nu-Iron; eTecK; The Equal Opportunities Commission; YWCA; Employers Consultative Association and others.
I am quite devoted to my hometown of San Fernando!
